The Pros and Cons of the Seasons

Making it official is going to be happening sooner than I consciously realize. Shoot, I better hit ukulele practicing every day that I can!

11 Days and Counting, to be exact!

I know that one of the first things people are going to ask is when it will be happening. The problem is that we have no idea. I thought I'd write down what I'm thinking to help clarify things.

We know we don't want a super long engagement and that I would pull my hair out with a super short one. In that spirit, here we go:

Fall 2018
Pros:
  • Would at least keep our anniversary in the same season.
  • Beautiful foliage.
  • I like the idea of using some of the autumn colors.

Cons:
  • Would be the quickest possible choice for planning anything.
  • Unpredictable moments of cold.
Winter 2018
Pros:
  • Cheapest season for weddings. By a lot.
  • Venues more likely to be available.
  • Jewel tones.

Cons:
  • We live in Chicago and Winter sucks here, especially for traveling guests.
  • Would have to be 100% indoors.
Spring 2019
Pros:
  • It's a little over a year, which is probably my ideal timeline.

Cons:
  • Might still be cold/wet.
  • Pastels.
Summer 2019
Pros:
  • Mr. Wolf might not have to take a lot of time off (he works at a school).
  • Lots of flowers will be blooming (esp. my favorite tiger lilies).
  • Warm.

Cons:
  • Mr. Wolf might think it's too much longer than the original discussion of a year.
  • Our birthdays and my parents' birthdays are all in June. Do I want it so close to that?
  • Potentially too hot?

Maybe I just need to share this list with Mr. Wolf. Which I can't do until later in the day on Christmas Eve at least because I showed the ring on top and I don't want to take it off.
