Who We Are

Our first anniversary

Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood Manatee. Miss Manatee, if you please. This is my story with my Mr. Wolf. Yes, we're using pseudonyms of our favorite animals. As you do.

A long, long time ago, in the year 2009, Mr. Wolf was entering his third year of college. Miss Manatee was just transferring into that college at the same time. She had a friend (later known as bridesmaid A, but we're getting ahead of ourselves) already attending there she had known from her hometown. The friend and Mr. Wolf were already in the same social circle. Inevitably, they met.

They became really good friends in college. To be honest, they both had a crush on the other but were too shy to say anything. They found out that they had both grown up in the same Chicagoland area three hours north of the college. After college, both were dating people at different times. There was one date, but it was super awkward. But that's okay. They weren't ready yet. 

In August of 2016, Miss Manatee moved into an apartment one town away from where Mr. Wolf lived. Of course, he didn't find this out until after she moved in, when he offered to help her move her stuff that was already there. They reconnected. It was wonderful. Miss Manatee hadn't unpacked any of her board games or other activities yet, so they ended up sitting at her beat up dining room table with coloring books, Enchanted Forest for her and The Classic Comic Coloring Book for him.

Mr. Wolf was telling a story about future Best Man N giving him girl advice when Miss Manatee nonchalantly assured him that he didn't really need advice, as she'd been crazy about him in college. Apparently, this was a pretty big surprise to him. They had their first kiss on September 10, 2016.

April 2017, Mr. Wolf moved into Miss Manatee's one bedroom. She wasn't sure if she was going to ever be able to share a room. Sometimes he freezes her under the covers with air conditioning and sometimes she steals his best pillow, but it's worked out so far. They started talking about making things even more permanent. They were both on the same page.

Long story short, these two crazy kids are going to be getting hitched some day. Nothing's official yet, but they're both planning for it, not to mention figuring out what it's going to cost them!

This blog is to share all the details of the coming proposal, planning, and eventual walk down the aisle. Miss Manatee is an obsessive early planner. Really, you should see her Pinterest boards.
